(WIBW) — An AMBER Alert has been issued for a 2-year-old boy who, the KBI says, was violently abducted early Friday afternoon by his non-custodial father.
According to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, Jace Brunt was forcibly taken from his biological mother shortly before 1 p.m. Authorities say he was taken by his father, Joshua Brunt, who does not have custody of the toddler.
Brunt reportedly used a gun to force Jace’s mother to give up the child, while the girlfriend allegedly used mace during the abduction. Due to the violent actions at the scene, authorities worry that Jace is in immediate danger.
Brunt was last seen in the 1700 block of S. 35th Street, in Kansas City, Kansas, heading south. Authorities are looking for a white, newer style Dodge Charger with driver’s side, rear end damage.
KBI says Jace has short, fuzzy, light brown hair with a pony tail on top. He was wearing pajama pants and a dark t-shirt or tank top and no shoes.
Joshua Brunt, 25, is described as a black man who stands 6’1″ and has a muscular build. he was wearing red shorts and a tank top. He has tattoos on his arms and neck.
Police are also searching of for Jasmine Brunt, 24. She is described as a black woman a slender build. She wears long braids in a pony tail and was last seen wearing a black spaghetti strap tank top and green basketball shorts.
