Blackburn College has named Dr. Jennifer Braaten to serve as interim president, effective July 1, while a search for a new president is conducted.
John Comerford is leaving Blackburn to become present of Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio.
Braaten had served as president of Ferrum College in Virginia for 15 years.
“Dr. Braaten will complement the initiatives already underway at Blackburn and we are excited to welcome her,” said Hazel Loucks, chair of the Blackburn Board of Trustees. “The board is confident she will provide the leadership needed at Blackburn while the search for a permanent replacement continues.”
