Blind student robbed on Cleveland State University campus

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A legally blind student was robbed Tuesday night in a building on the Cleveland State University campus downtown, university police say.

The university sent out an email alert to students and staff saying the robbery occurred at about 9:37 p.m. in the Main Classroom Building on the corner of East 22nd Street and Euclid Avenue, near the Euclid Avenue entrance.

The suspect took the book bag and cellphone from the victim, who was not injured. No weapon was seen.

CSU police say video shows the suspect as about 18 years old, 5-foot-9, 165 pounds and wearing a gray sweat shirt, brown Timberland boots with black soles, a black and white knitted hat and a dark leather jacket.
