Shenandoah quarterback Hayden Bauserman threw for 495 yards and five touchdowns as the Hornets pulled away for a 47-24 victory over Emory & Henry in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference game Sat-urday.

Shenandoah (4-1, 2-3) led 27-10 at the half, but the Wasps (2-3, 1-1) got back within three points early in the third quarter thanks to touchdown passes by Kevin Saxton to Brad Puccio and Derrick Yates.

From there, however, it was all Shenandoah as the Hornets scored the game’s final 20 points.

Yates, a former Abingdon High School star, made seven catches for 137 yards, including a 65-yard grab on his TD reception.

Isaiah Rodgers led E&H with 98 rushing yards on 10 carries and former Hurley High School standout Brady Justice carried the ball 10 times for 65 yards.

Bauserman completed 40 of 61 passes without an interception for Shenandoah, which also got field goals of 31, 30, 32 and 25 yards by kicker Jacob Newton.
