OREGON CITY — Kobe Olson was the last man standing for the Umpqua Riverhawks and earned the team 8.5 points. at the Clackamas Community College Wrestling Invitational.
Olson went 3-2 on the day in the 141-pound division. He defeated Brandon Hertz of Pacific University with a fall in 4:46 in the first match, then lost a 14-8 decision to Ethan Wendell.
For his first match in the consolation round he received a bye and then won by injury default over Clackamas’ Jerry Mealy and Highland Community College’s Tucker Wooding. He dropped a 26-19 decision to Clackamas’ Clai Quintanilla for his final match.
Dallas O’Bryan was the only other Riverhawk to score points for the team with a 197-pound forfeit win over Grays Harbor’s Kaimana Phillips, before falling to Simon Fraser’s Timothy Smith and a :50 fall to Oregon State’s Christian Robertson.
Grant Laiblin (133), Isaiah Lepre (149), Richard Rolfe (149), Hayden Juliano (174), Josh Hammers (184) and Brayden Schultz (197) also competed for UCC.
UCC will wrestle a home dual against Highline College at 5 p.m. Saturday.
