Israelle Johnson of Baltimore, was inducted into RIT’s National Technical Institute for the Deaf honor society, Delta Xi chapter of Epsilon Pi Tau.

Hannah Weinberg from Amanda, earned a Bachelor of Science in marine science.

Annelizabeth Berry of Pleasentville, earned a Master of Education degree in educational administration.

Lynsey Comer of Baltimore, earned a Master of Education degree in educational administration.

Evan Thomas of Lancaster, earned a Master of Education degree in educational administration. He is the son of Philip and Terri Thomas.

Matthew Williams of Pleasantville, earned a Master of Business Administration degree in executive management.

Stephanie Drapp, a senior at Lancaster, received the Fellows Scholarship of $16,500 a year for four years to attend Heidelberg University.

Autumn Cooney of Lancaster, earned a Bachelor of Science in exercise and sport science.

Nicole Klamar of Lancaster, participated in the 2018 Juried Student Art and Design Exhibition. Klamar showcased her creativity in digital photography.

Clark Davis Hubbard of Lancaster, earned a Bachelor of Music, in percussion performance, Cum Laude.

Emelia Thomas of Carroll, made the spring dean’s list.

Fairfield Union high school senior and member of the National Honor Society was named one of 500 national semifinalists in the NHS scholarship program.

Awards Ceremony

The Elizabeth Sherman Reese Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, held its annual Awards Ceremony on March 10 at the Crossroads Event Center in Lancaster.

The Local Media Award was presented to Rick Palsgrove for his work as editor and reporter for the Southeast Messenger.

The Historic Preservation Recognition Award was presented to the Davis Auditorium Preservation Committee for their work on renovating and restoring the Davis Auditorium on the Lancaster Campgrounds. Committee member Shirley Wasem, accepted the award with other committee members.

The Women in American History Award recipient was Mildred (Middy) Benson Clum for her service to the community and people of Carroll. She recently published a book on the history of Carroll. The award was presented by DAR chapter member Tammy Drobina, Middy’s daughter.

The Community Service Award was presented to Touching Little Lives, Inc., an organization whose purpose is help newborns. Touching Little Lives trustees, Sally Bricker and Linda Marshall accepted the award.

The Conservation Award was presented to Roger Grossenbacher for his volunteer work at several area parks.

For the first time, the chapter recognized area students for Outstanding Work in American History. Claire Hoover of Fairfield Christian Academy and Carmichael Snider of Bloom-Carroll High School were recognized.

Ethan Roberts of Fairfield Christian Academy, won the ESR Chapter’s 2018 Good Citizen award.

The Service for Veterans Outstanding Veteran Volunteer Award was presented to Lt. Col. (Ret.) Susan Shugert Green. She is a West Point graduate and continues to serve our country by volunteering on behalf of other veterans.

Lt. Col. (Ret.) Susan Green, was the speaker, she spoke of the importance of our nation and caring for our veterans.

Each awardee was presented with a certificate and small gift from the chapter, as well as certificates from their respective members of the Ohio House of Representatives and the Ohio Senate.

Lancaster FFA

Lancaster FFA held its annual awards banquet on April 26 at Lancaster High School, over 100 people were in attendance to recognize the students’ accomplishments from the past school year.

Member of the year, CDE and SAE participation and workhorse awards for the FFA Chapter were given out. New FFA officers for the 2018-2019 school year were also elected during the banquet.
