On Tuesday, Disney revealed plans to pull its content from the online streaming company in order to set up its own branded services. This would potentially leave a significant hole in Netflix, as it would lose a chunk of material which is owned by Disney.
However, since the announcement earlier in the week, Disney’s Chief Executive Bob Iger has stated that the company is yet to decide on the future location of content from its subsidiaries, leaving the door open for it to remain available on Netflix.
Netflix reached an agreement with Disney in 2012 to stream the company’s content on its site and the streaming giant released the content to users in 2016.
