Fundraising event gives high school students a taste of college life

DUPLIN COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Local high school students are getting a taste of college life Thursday.

James Sprunt Community College is inviting high school seniors for its Annual Spring Fling event Thursday. Seniors will be able to talk to current college students, instructors and staff, while enjoying fun games and food on campus.

The college is also using the event as a fundraising effort to support Rose Hill United Methodist Church, which was severely damaged in a fire on New Year’s Day. The church’s pastor will be in a dunking booth during the event, which runs from 11 a.m. -2 p.m.
