KENT, Ohio — A student at Kent State University has died, a university official confirmed Wednesday night.
Eric Mansfield, executive director of media relations for KSU, released a statement identifying the student as Devin Moore, a senior majoring in broadcast journalism and a graduate of Beachwood High School.
Mansfield did not say how Moore died. According to the Record Courier, Moore died after a medical emergency just after 7 p.m. Wednesday at the school’s recreation center.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Devin Moore’s family and members of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. as they grieve his tragic passing,” Mansfield said in the statement. “Out of respect for his family, we will provide no further information surrounding his death.”
Mansfield said counseling is being offered for students.
