Marquette University police chief cited for OWI

Marquette University Police Chief Paul Mascari has been cited for operating a vehicle while intoxicated while he was off duty.

He has been placed on administrative leave pending an internal review, a Marquette University spokesman said.

Mascari has been chief of the university’s police department since it was created in 2015, but has been with the university since 2004.

Mascari is also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a current officer in the Coast Guard Reserves. He earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and his master’s degree in public service – criminal justice administration from Marquette, according to his online profile.
