Marvin Bagley to make college decision Monday night on ESPN

The number one player of the 2018 recruiting class and possibly one of the best players to come out of high school since Anthony Davis is making his college decision tomorrow night.

The decision will be aired on ESPN, August 14th at 11pm.

Once considered a UK lean, Kentucky seems to be out of the race for Bagley after his recent round of visits only included Duke, USC, and UCLA.

Landing Bagley would have been a huge addition to whichever class he decides to play in, and the coaching staff at Kentucky was likely hoping he would hold off on announcing for a while so that they had time to make up ground on the other schools.

The timing of his announcement suggests that he is almost certainly going to try to reclassify into the 2017 class, which would help him get to the NBA a year sooner. There may be some logistical hurdles there, as the short turnaround would require the NCAA to act swiftly if he is going to get cleared for play in the 2017-18 college basketball season.

Duke and USC look to be the favorites, with each school offering a unique pitch. At Duke, Bagley would be the best big-man on a championship contending team. USC, however, would keep him close to home and is shaping together a rising program in their own right under former Florida Gulf Coast head coach Andy Enfield.

Earlier this month, upon canceling his visit to Arizona, Adam Zagoria reported that Bagley still planned to visit Kentucky. That now seems unlikely to ever happen.
