One of the nation’s top recruits is off the market, as 2018 5-star recruit Cam Reddish announced his college decision on Friday night.
Reddish, who made his announcement in the Players Tribune, picked Duke over a variety of powerhouse programs, including Kentucky. Reddish is the No. 4 prospect in the country, but the No. 3 small forward in the class.
The 6-foot-8 prospect spent 3 weeks with Kentucky coach John Calipari earlier this summer as part of the U-19 USA team. But Calipari wasn’t quite able to sway him to join the Wildcats.
Now there is even more pressure on the Wildcats to land either Zion Williamson, the internet dunking sensation who is the No. 2 player in the 2018 class, or R.J. Barrett, the No. 1 player in the class and who helped knock off Calipari’s team in the U-19 tournament. The Canadian phenom is visiting Kentucky this weekend.
The Wildcats do not have a commit yet for the 2018 class. Their 2017 class was the best in the country, headlined by 5-star prospect Kevin Knox.
Kentucky plays its first regular season game on Nov. 10 when the Wildcats take on Utah Valley.
