NJ Transit service resumes after person fatally struck by train in Linden, New Jersey

LINDEN, New Jersey (WABC) —

New Jersey Transit’s Northeast Corridor Line and North Jersey Coast Line eastbound train service has resumed after being suspended earlier due to a trespasser fatality in Linden.

Police say a person was fatally struck by a New Jersey Transit train while on the tracks near Stiles Street at about 7:40 Monday morning.

Service was temporarily suspended between Metuchen and Newark and Woodbridge and Newark.

NJT Bus is cross honoring rail tickets and passes.

Northeast Corridor Line and North Jersey Coast Line has resumed with 60 minute delays.

Investigators are on the scene and Stiles Street remains closed in both directions between Linden Ave and Elizabeth Avenue.
