OU football: University will honor Bob Stoops during homecoming | OU Sports Extra

NORMAN— The University of Oklahoma announced plans Wednesday to honor former coach Bob Stoops during OU’s Homecoming weekend Oct. 27 and Oct. 28.

On Oct. 27, a Friday, Bob and wife Carol will be honored recipients at the OU Ring Ceremony. On Oct. 28, the day of OU’s game against Texas Tech, the couple will serve as co-marshals of the Homecoming Parade.

“It is an honor for the University of Oklahoma to be able to pay tribute to Carol and Bob Stoops at Homecoming this year,” OU President David Boren said in a news release. “They have generously given of themselves in their service to the university and to the broader community. The Stoopses are worthy role models for our students and have left a lasting impact on the university.”
