Police Arrest Suspected Driver in Portland State University Hit-and-Run; Car Registered to Clackamas County Man

Police blocked the blue Mazda Tribute, which they confirm was the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run, at Northeast Glisan Street and 16th Avenue.

WW has learned that the vehicle’s Oregon plates are registered to a 58-year-old man living in the Clackamas County town of Beavercreek. It’s unclear whether he is the suspect. The Oregonian reports that a woman living at that address said he had recently sold the car.

Police have not yet released the name of the driver.

Witnesses say the Mazda drove onto a sidewalk near the intersection of Southwest 6th Avenue and Montgomery Street on the PSU campus and hit at least three people. Portland Police say the victims are in the hospital and that two have life-threatening injuries.
