Powerful Nor’easter Causes University to Close — The Heights

Boston College will be closed tomorrow due to pending storm activity.

A third powerful nor’easter in less than two weeks is expected to arrive late Monday in the Northeast as thousands of people dig out from the other fierce storms this month and continue to wait for their power to be restored.

According to the National Weather Service, the Boston area is expected to receive between 11 to 17 inches of snow, and the storm could reach “bomb cyclone” status. Sustained wind speeds of 20 mph are expected, and gusts could reach up to 40 mph. Peak snowfall times are expected Tuesday morning.

Earlier this evening, the University announced several parking lots would be closed due to the forecasted weather.

Following suit with Harvard, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Tufts University, and Boston University, all of whom cancelled classes earlier today, the University announced its closing at 9:52 p.m. via Facebook, Twitter, and its emergency notification system.
