R.I. Real Estate Notes: College Hill multifamily sold for $1.69 million – Real Estate – providencejournal.com

A multifamily house in College Hill, 89 Angell St., Providence, was sold on March 29 for $1.69 million by Fall River real estate investor Walter Bronhard.

The buyers were Nicola and Whitney Savignano of Beverly, Massachusetts. Residential Properties Ltd. represented both sides of the transaction. The listing agent was Jim DeRentis, and the buyers’ agent was Lynn Leffray McCall.

According to deed records, DeRentis previously owned the property. He sold it to Bronhard in March 2015 for $1.75 million, after having purchased it for $1.25 million in 2008.

Built circa 1850 by musician Benjamin Bliven, the house is a contributing building within the College Hill National Historic Landmark District, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, according to RPL. This three-story stuccoed property was updated during the 20th century into the Federal Revival style it is today and now houses multiple apartments. The property has landscaped grounds, walkways and a brick courtyard.

 

$1.5 million sale in Barrington

A home at 77 Rumstick Rd. in Barrington sold on April 10 for $1,536,500.

The buyers were represented by Carolyn Coleman of Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty, and the sellers were represented by Gerri Schiffman of Residential Properties Ltd.

“This home offers a unique opportunity to live close to the center of town in a private, pastoral setting on two acres of land,” Coleman said. Designed by Andreozzi Architecture, the home was originally owned by professional golfer Brad Faxon.

 

Waterfront home brings $1.064 million

A waterfront home in Barrington at 61 Appian Way was sold on April 2 for $1.064 million.

The seller was Ardath Jenkins and the buyers were Susan Hillary Latham and Paul Latham, of Pawtucket. The listing agent, Lisa Schryver, and the buyer’s agent, Kerri Payne, are both with Residential Properties Ltd.’s Barrington office.

Set along the coast of the Narragansett Bay in Barrington, this shingle-style home has a large living room with a wood-burning fireplace, as well as a spacious wooden deck overlooking the water.
