SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. — The Shepherd University Foundation recently received an anonymous $40,000 gift for the Shepherd Success Fund.

Created by Shepherd President Mary J.C. Hendrix and her husband, Charles Craft, with a significant gift through the foundation, the success fund provides support for the university’s future by funding initiatives critical for training the next generation.

The fund already has helped contribute to the purchase of body cameras for campus police officers, as well as the Veterans to Agriculture training program at Tabler Farm.

The university has designated specific programs and projects that qualify for matching funds from the success fund. The programs are working with staff and volunteers to find private donors to match gifts from the fund, and the challenges have inspired dozens of new private gifts totaling nearly $98,000 in new contributions.
