Slain Yarmouth police officer was formerly Stonehill College cop – News – The Enterprise, Brockton, MA

Sean Gannon, 32, was formerly a campus police officer at Stonehill College. Gannon was the Yarmouth police officer who died while in the line of duty, trying to serve a warrant when he was fatally shot on Thursday afternoon. “Our prayers and thoughts are with his family and his fellow officers,” said Stonehill College, in a statement on Twitter.

EASTON – The Yarmouth police officer who was killed while working in Barnstable on Thursday previously was an on-campus cop at a Roman Catholic, liberal arts college located in Easton.

Sean Gannon was formerly a campus police officer at Stonehill College, last working at the school more than seven years ago. Stonehill said Gannon worked as a campus police officer at the college for three years, from 2007 to 2010.

“Well known and respected on campus, Sean was a talented and dedicated police officer who excelled during his three years at the college,” said Michael Shulansky, a spokesperson for Stonehill. “His colleagues in the Stonehill College Police Department are heartbroken by his death as is everyone in the Stonehill community who knew him.”

Gannon was the Yarmouth police officer who died while in the line of duty, trying to serve a warrant when he was fatally shot on Thursday afternoon. He was 32 years old.
