Here’s a breakdown of the stories right now at www.democratandchronicle.com.
Anti-immigration flyers were distributed on the St. John Fisher College campus in Pittsford on Monday, college officials said.
According to a statement released by the college, “unauthorized materials were discovered around 10 a.m. in and around the academic corridor that express inappropriate messages related to sexual assault and immigration.”
The flyers were removed, and school officials are “actively working to identify those responsible.”
School officials said the college has a “zero tolerance” policy for behavior that is not consistent with its values. The St. John Fisher mission statement says the college seeks to “overcome prejudice, including that occasioned by gender, race, age, religion, region, culture, disability, sexual orientation or economic status” and that “we work together to set an example of tolerance and openness.”
