DE PERE, Wis. (WBAY) — It’s a sure sign that football is about to take center stage in northeast Wisconsin once again.
There’s a lot of activity at St. Norbert College in De Pere for what’s officially dubbed “bed move.”
About 220 dorm beds that serve the students during semester were replaced with 100 custom beds better suited to the size of professional football athletes.
For the duration of training camp, St. Norbert will be team base for all living arrangements transportation and meals.
“This all started when the legendary coach Vince Lombardi decided that St. Norbert College will be the home of Green Bay Packers camp; and it is the longest relationship between an NFL team and a college in the NFL,” said Kelly Nass, Director of Packers Camp at St. Norbert College.
The Packers have partnered with St. Norbert for training camp housing since 1958.
