Taylor Swift’s Complete MTV VMAs History: All the Kanye Drama, Big Performances and Shady Speeches

2017: Even considering all that, this year could be Swift’s most dramatic VMAs yet, seeing as we’re living in a post-“Look What You Made Me Do” world. Swift’s newest single is far and away her darkest — and most polarizing — yet, and the music video is set to premiere at this year’s show on Sunday night.

Additionally, Swift landed in Los Angeles on Thursday night, so that appearance we’re all hoping for is very much within the realm of possibility.

She’s nominated for only one award — Best Collaboration for “I Don’t Want to Live Forever” — in the same category as BFF Selena Gomez (“We Don’t Talk Anymore” with Charlie Puth) and “straight-up enemy” Katy Perry for “Feels,” a collabo with Swift’s ex-boyfriend, Calvin Harris.

Speaking of Perry, who is also hosting the 2017 VMAs, are rumors true that the feuding pop stars might take the stage together? The show’s producer says no. “That’s not happening as far as [I know],” Garrett English told ET. But will they bury the hatchet another way? Or will Swift surprise perform the first single off her upcoming Reputation album? We’ll have to tune in to find out…

The 2017 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from The Forum in Inglewood, California, on Sunday, Aug. 27 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Watch the video below for what you didn’t see at last year’s show.
