This week in college basketball | College Sports

Christmas is a week away, but there is still plenty of college basketball action scheduled until then.

Here is a look at the week ahead for WVU Tech, West Virginia and Marshall:

WVU Tech

Men: The Golden Bears (8-4, 3-1 River States Conference) had a three-game winning streak snapped Saturday with an 80-68 loss at Indiana University-East. They will leave for Florida today for a pair of games on the campus of Florida Memorial, taking on the host Lions on Tuesday and St. Thomas on Wednesday. Both games will tip off at 7 p.m.

Women: The Lady Golden Bears (9-6, 4-0 RSC) picked up a big win Saturday — and on the road at that — 81-77 over IU-East. It was their fifth straight victory. The ladies actually get an extended break, off until hosting Indiana Tech on New Year’s Eve at 3 p.m.

West Virginia

Men: The Mountaineers (9-1) cruised past Wheeling Jesuit 98-50 in a mid-December exhibition on Saturday. They will host Coppin State Wednesday at 7 p.m. and Fordham Saturday at noon before starting Big 12 play Friday, Dec. 29, at Oklahoma State. Both games can be seen on AT&T SportsNet.

Women: The 10th-ranked Mountaineers (10-0) easily handled Radford 75-55 on Saturday. They host Morgan State today and Morehead State Thursday. Both games start at 7 p.m.

Men: The Thundering Herd (8-3) ran its home record to 7-0 with Saturday’s 99-96 overtime win over rival Ohio. Dan D’Antoni’s squad will travel to Xavier Tuesday (6:30 p.m., FS1) before starting a four-game homestand Friday against Eastern Kentucky (7 p.m.).

Women: Marshall (3-7) dropped a disappointing 56-54 loss to Appalachian State on Saturday. The Herd will host Kentucky Christian today at 1 p.m., then will visit Tennessee State Thursday at 7 p.m.
