UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS —

A woman has been displaced after her University Heights apartment caught fire Sunday night, police said.

The fire started around 8 p.m. in the 2900 block of West McMicken Avenue.

Police said the woman was cooking when a grease fire broke out.

She was not injured, but the apartment was gutted, police said.

Officials estimate there was nearly $50,000 worth of damage.

The woman will stay in another apartment at the complex.
