A look at who could be cast in a big-budget blockbuster based on Katina Powell’s tell-all book, “Breaking Cardinal Rules.” June 17, 2017
The daughter of Katina Powell – the author of “Breaking Cardinal Rules” and the self-proclaimed “escort queen” at the center of the University of Louisville basketball team’s sex scandal – was arrested Friday evening.
Lindsay Powell, 25, was arrested by Louisville Metro Police and is charged with burglary and 4th-degree assault, according to court documents.
Larry Wilder, a legal representative for Katina Powell, confirmed that Lindsay is Katina’s daughter.
“There was a dispute among the family that involved Louisville Metro Police,” Wilder said. “Katina is her mother, but there is no comment from her on the matter.”
Lindsay Powell came to her aunt’s house on Dr. William G Weathers Drive in the Park DuValle neighborhood around 10 p.m. and started banging on the window asking where her kids were, according to an arrest citation.
She then broke the latch on her aunt’s door, entered her home and started punching her in the face causing swelling on her eye and cheek, the citation states.
Lindsay Powell then fled the scene and was arrested by Louisville Metro Police less than an hour later.
Her mother’s book says that then-16-year-old Lindsay Powell accompanied her as an escort during their recruiting visits at the University of Louisville.
“Lindsay is my daughter and a team player,” an entry in the book says. “She does most of the shows. She started off picking up money (thrown at dancers by men, but not performing or having sex). Now she does good. I think she likes it. It puts money in her pocket, and it’s fun.”
Lindsay Powell is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on September 26.
