MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. (WITN) – The largest single-grant ever awarded in the history of one university is now being called a “game changer.”
The University of Mount Olive was awarded a five year, $2.76M commitment from the U.S. Department of Education’s Title Three Program.
In part, the grant will help UMO expand its capacity to help low-income students by providing funds to improve and strengthen the academic quality.
University President Dr. Philip Kerstetter said student success is a priority and the support provided by the department of education is a huge vote of confidence.
This grant is the largest in the school’s 66 year history.
