Police continued the investigation into the death of a 19-year-old Binghamton University engineering student on campus Sunday night. Joao Souza, who graduated from Blind Brook High School, near White Plains, died from stab wounds suffered in Windham Hall at the Vestal campus.
Here is what we know about the death and the investigation:
Joao Souza was killed on campus Sunday night.
Two calls were made around 10:30 p.m., one to the 911 center and the other directly to Binghamton University Police, reporting the assault. Souza was killed in a suite at Windham Hall and pronounced dead at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City.

BU police have not released a name of the suspect or confirmed whether he is a BU student. He wore gloves, dark pants and a dark hoodie.
Police say it was not a random act.
A motive in the deadly stabbing has not been released and BU police said Monday the suspect could still be armed and dangerous.
Police were searching locations on campus Monday.
BU police were aided by Broome County Sheriff’s deputies, New York State Police, Forest Rangers and the Department of Environmental Conservation to comb through the area surrounding Windham Hall. Searches were also conducted in the wooded areas not far from the crime scene, into the BU Nature Preserve.
