Wrong-way driver crashes on I-485 near University City

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A wrong-way driver crashed on Interstate 485 Thursday morning, causing major traffic issues near University City.

The crash happened shortly before noon on I-485 at Harrisburg Road.

Traffic was down to one lane, which caused delays, but Channel 9 has been told that all lanes are now open.

Officials said one patient was taken to Carolinas Medical Center – University with minor injuries.

Channel 9 is asking officials what caused the crash and if anyone else was hurt.
